Banks is one of the more talented press corners in this year’s class. He has shot up boards ever since the Terps’ season ended. His film is fundamentally impressive; He has good eyes, hands, feet, and hips while running on the sideline. His ability to track the receiver is as good as any other corner in this class.

Deonte Banks celebrates vs. Michigan (Sept. 24, 2022 Maryland: 27 – Michigan: 34)

Banks looked very strong in man coverage but seemed to lack in some zone looks on film. There was a struggle to recover on shorter comeback routes and ins/outs/slants. Even though he does drop back into a deep half or third, most times, when stationed in a flat zone, he struggled with softer coverage.

Another thing could be his lack of interceptions. The Maryland D-back only had 1 INT in 2022 and 8 PDs. Banks could not capitalize on some of his perfect coverage reps.

Deonte Banks is currently my CB3 and I expect him to go in the late teens to early twenties.
