Ke’Bryan Hayes, Pirates Agree to Big Extension

Third Baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes and the Pittsburgh Pirates reached an agreement on Thursday afternoon on an eight-year contract extension worth $70 million, according to multiple reports.

He now becomes the highest paid Pirate ever ahead of the six-year, $60 million contract that catcher Jason Kendall signed in 2000.

The deal includes a club option for an extended ninth-season.

The 25-year old has played a total of 120 career games in the MLB, having a career .280 batting average along with 49 RBI’s.
