Tom Brady Announces Retirement After 23 Years

All-Time Great quarterback, Tom Brady, announced on social media on Wednesday morning that he is retiring from the NFL. This comes as the second time he’s announced his retirement in a year.

On the same day — February 1st — in 2022 Brady announced that he was retiring from the NFL, but he later decided to return and play again for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Throughout the 2022 season, Brady had some obstacles including family issues and team issues. Tampa Bay ultimately made the playoffs but was bounced in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys.

In his announcement video, posted to Twitter and Instagram, Brady says that he’s hanging up his cleats “for good”.

The Buccaneers will eat a little over $35 Million in dead money over the next few years.

Brady may not hop into his next endeavor immediately, but in 2022 — after his first retirement — he signed a deal with FOX Sports to become one of the network’s prominent game broadcasters.
