Curry to Miss Rest of Regular Season

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry will miss the remainder of the regular season after the team announced on Friday that he has been diagnosed with a sprained ligament in his left foot.

In a March 16th matchup with the Boston Celtics, Marcus Smart and Stephen Curry collided when diving for a loose ball. Curry got up limping and grimacing before being taken out and he did not return to the game.

The Warriors, who are currently 3rd in the Western Conference with a record of 48-29, have struggled mightily since Curry’s injury, going 1-6, but with only five games left in the regular season his absence won’t have a very big impact on their playoff position.

Despite this setback, Curry is planning on returning in time for the beginning of the playoffs. The two-time MVP is essential to the Warriors success and having him available for the playoffs is all anyone could ask for.

When asked about Curry returning, Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr stated: “Steph has been injured many times either before or during the playoffs in the past and he’s always returned really well, so I’m not too worried about him. All it takes is one made shot and he’s back in rhythm. We’ll see how it all goes over the next couple weeks, just following the advice of the training staff and we’ll go from there.” Curry has been making good progress and will be reevaluated on April 11th, the Warriors said Friday.
