Mariners Sign J.P. Crawford to Five-Year Extension

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that shortstop J.P. Crawford and the Seattle Mariners are in agreement on a five-year, $51 million contract extension.

Crawford, who is 27, had a career year on the offensive side of the ball in 2021, hitting .273 in 160 games. He is also an elite talent on the defensive end of the ball.

The deal will begin this season and will buy out two-free agent seasons.
