NFL Draft: Top DL ONLY Meeting Teams Inside Top-10…

Jalen Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that his client is refusing to speak to/visit any team that is not picking in the top-10 in the NFL Draft.

Carter is expected to head to Chicago on Monday to meet with the Bears (9th overall). He was invited and does plan to attend this years’ draft in Kansas City, Missouri.

Carter does have some questions looming after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing due to a fatal January accident that killed Georgia Bulldog teammate Devin Willock and staffer Chandler Lecroy.

He was sentenced to 12 months of probation, a $1,000 fine and 80 community service hours, along with attending a state-approved defensive driving course. According to both Carter and his attorney, Kim Stephens, they believe Carter was not the cause of the accident. Stephens has said that Carter had not been under the influence of alcohol or any other illegal substances.

Some other questions surrounding his draft status are his weight being 9 pounds heavier at Georgia’s Pro Day than it was at the NFL Scouting Combine (Combine: 324 lbs Pro Day: 323 lbs). At his Pro Day, he also opted to only do on field-drills in which he did not finish.

Still, Carter is expected to be taken inside of the top-10 and will be a major story heading into the draft.
