LSU cornerback Mekhi Garner is a projected Day 3 pick, but his draft stock seems to be on the rise.

The 23-year-old Garner, who was a transfer from Louisiana to LSU, has had virtual meetings with five teams, a source told The Sports Place’s Arye Pulli, as the NFL Draft nears.

A source said that Garner, who made a true impact via the transfer portal in 2022, has met with the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, and Seattle Seahawks.

At 6’2″, he uses his size to his advantage in coverage and is able to effectively match up with bigger receivers — something he will need in the NFL.

The 2023 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 27 at 8 PM and will end on Saturday, April 29.

Garner was invited to the Shrine Bowl and the NFL Combine as all-star and pre-draft events respectively.

At the NFL Combine, the former three-star recruit coming out of high school ran a 4.55 40-yard dash and showed off his 128-inch broad jump, one at the top of his class.

As a senior in 2022, he had 34 tackles in 13 total games. He had 4 pass breakups and when being targeted in coverage, quarterbacks had a QBR of 82.1.
