Are The Warriors in Trouble?

Are The Warriors in Trouble?

After the Warriors 106-114 loss to the Sacramento Kings Monday night, they find themselves down 2-0 in a playoff series for the first time under Steve Kerr. The last time this happened was in the 2007 conference semifinals vs. the Jazz when the team was coached by Don Nelson.

The defending champions and six-seeded Warriors had high hopes entering the playoffs and were expected to compete for another championship by many fans around the league, but the Kings continue to show people that they are no joke.

Full team contribution has been huge for this Kings squad throughout the season and has continued into the playoffs, having six players in double digits last game, but the real x-factor in this series has been the Kings defense which has been giving this explosive Warriors offense a difficult time.

The series will now return to The Bay where the Warriors will look to bring things back within reach, but if it wasn’t already going to be hard enough, the Warriors will be without Draymond Green for Game 3. Green received a single game suspension for stepping on Kings center Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis sustained a sternum contusion from the incident and is listed as questionable for tomorrow night’s game.

NBA VP, Joe Dumars, spoke on Green’s suspension where he stated that…

“excessive and over-the-top actions” and his history as a “repeat offender” were instrumental in the league’s decision.
