Bears Will Not Tag Allen Robinson

The Chicago Bears will not tag wide receiver Allen Robinson for a second straight year, according to ESPN. Robinson will be free to hit the open market and sign elsewhere if he so chooses.

Robinson had a down year in 2021, posting only 410 yards after coming off two straight 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 and 2020.

The 28-year old wide receiver still has lots of good football left and that is well known throughout the NFL. Teams are not worried about his down year in 2021, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Robinson can re-sign with the Bears if he pleases, but he will likely be catching on with another team for 2022-23. He has 6,409 total receiving yards and 40 total touchdowns in eight seasons in the NFL and will now be preparing for a fresh start elsewhere.
