Ben Simmons Dealing With Back Soreness

Recently-acquired Brooklyn Nets Star Ben Simmons is dealing with back soreness in his reconditioning process, according to NBA Insider Shams Charania. It reportedly requires further strengthening of the area over a period of time before Simmons can make his debut with Brooklyn.

Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets at the NBA’s trade deadline in a blockbuster deal that included James Harden being unloaded from Brooklyn to Philadelphia.

Simmons did not play a single game yet this season and had been holding out from playing for the 76ers. He intended to never play for the 76ers again, and he got his wish, ultimately being traded to Philadelphia.

When asked on the recent report from Charania, Nets Head Coach Steve Nash said that it is just a little soreness in his back and he doesn’t see it as an injury.

Brooklyn, who is 31-29 this season, is currently in the eighth seed in the Eastern conference and has gone 2-13 in their last 15 games. Kevin Durant, the teams go-to guy, has been sidelined with a sprained MCL, but is expected to return soon. Kyrie Irving can also only play in the teams’ away games since he is not vaccinated, cutting his eligibility to play in home games.
