Bradley Beal, Wizards May Work Together On Trade: Reports

It appears that Bradley Beal’s 11-year tenure with the Washington Wizards could be coming to an imminent conclusion.

According to multiple reports from both ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Wizards and Beal are expected to work together to find a trade should the Wizards’ organization decide to enter rebuild mode.

Washington missed the playoffs in 2022 with a 35-47 record as Beal only played in 50 games due to injuries to his knee and hamstring.

In the 50 games played in 2022, Bradley Beal averaged 23.2 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds per game and 5.4 assists per game.

Beal, who signed a massive five-year, $251 million extension with the Wizards last summer, has been at the forefront of the rumor mill over the last few off-seasons. Now, it seems that the rumors surrounding the 29-year-old will only escalate as the off-season progresses.

The NBA Draft is set to take place on June 22 and the Wizards currently hold the eighth pick. Should Washington decide that they want to enter “rebuild mode”, the NBA Draft could be a potential day that the team gets a deal done.

Among the teams that are expected to be interested in Beal, the Miami Heat are expected to emerge as a “prominent potential suitor” for the star guard if he becomes available, according to Charania.

Beal is in a unique situation — he has a no-trade clause that was included in the extension that he signed last off-season. This gives him the ability to control his ultimate landing spot.
