Vikings Release Star RB Dalvin Cook

It has appeared that Dalvin Cook and the Minnesota Vikings would be parting ways for weeks. Now, it has become a reality.

Dalvin Cook, a 4-time Pro Bowl running back, was informed on Thursday morning that he would be released by the Vikings, according to multiple reports.

While Cook is still a player of star caliber, his cap number was too high for Minnesota to keep him on the roster, and after weeks of trying to find a trade partner, the Vikings now plan on releasing him.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings will try to find a trade partner one more time on Thursday and if they cannot find one, he will be officially released.

The Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos are two teams that are expected to show interest in Cook once he’s released, according to Schefter.

Cook, the 27-year-old back, has produced elite numbers with the Vikings in his six-year career, including making it all the way up to third on the Vikings All-Time rushing list with 5,993 rushing yards.
