Browns Trading For 3-time Pro Bowler, Za’Darius Smith…

The Minnesota Vikings are trading three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher, Za’Darius Smith, to the Cleveland Browns, league sources confirmed to Ian Rappaport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The full details of the trade are as follows:

Cleveland Browns receive:

  • Za’Darius Smith
  • 2025 6th-round pick
  • 2025 7th-round pick

Minnesota Vikings receive:

  • 2024 5th-round pick
  • 2025 5th-round pick

Smith was able to accumulate 10 sacks and 44 total tackles in 2022 and career totals of 54.5 sacks and 271 tackles. Now, Smith will be playing opposite two-time All-Pro defensive end, Myles Garrett.

Smith first played college football at East Mississippi Community College before transferring to the University of Kentucky where he started in 24 games and racked up 11.0 sacks and 14 tackles for loss.

Smith was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2015 NFL Draft where he spent his first four years followed by another three years with the Green Bay Packers. Having played with the Minnesota Vikings for one year up to this point, Smith will now move on to Cleveland joining his fourth career team.
