Dalvin Cook, Jets Agree To Deal

The New York Jets have made a big training camp move, signing former Minnesota Vikings’ running back Dalvin Cook. Cook, who found himself on the free agent market due to the Vikings’ cap space constraints, has now become a huge part of the Jets’ plans for the upcoming season.

Cook and second-year running back Breece Hall are set to create a formidable 1-2 punch at the running back spot. Hall is coming off of a torn ACL so the addition of Cook adds some insurance.

The Jets’ ability to give Cook a good chunk of money comes from the efforts of their future Hall of Fame quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. He took a pay cut of over $30 million in order to free cap space for the team.

The deal, according to multiple reports, is a one-year contract worth up to $8.6 million. It includes a base salary of $7 million and incentives that can be worth up to $8.6 million.
