David Njoku, Browns In Extension Talks

The Cleveland Browns and tight end David Njoku are in active talks on an extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. There is confidence that the deal can get done by the July 15th deadline.

Njoku was franchise tagged by the Browns pre-franchise tag deadline. The Browns also recently released tight end Austin Hooper, who then signed with the Tennessee Titans.

Njoku is 25 years old and has 1,500 yards along with 15 touchdowns in five career seasons. In the upcoming NFL season, he will get an opportunity to step into a larger role for the Browns’ new look offense that features newly acquired quarterback Deshaun Watson.
