The Jacksonville Jaguars have just announced that they will be hiring former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. The Jaguars are coming off yet another disappointing season after finishing 3-14, and are looking for a new beginning with Coach Pederson.

Pederson spent five seasons in Philadelphia (2016-2020) where he went 42-31-1 and made three playoff appearances, including a Super Bowl victory in 2018 where they beat the New England Patriots 41-33.

After being fired in January of 2021, following a disappointing 4-11-1 2020 season, Pederson spent the 2021 season out of the NFL, but was the first head coaching candidate the Jaguars interviewed after firing Urban Meyer on December 16th. The first interview took place soon after on December 30th and was brought back for a second interview on Tuesday before being hired today.

The Jaguars have only one winning season since 2007 and have lost 10 or more games in 10 of the last 11 seasons. Over the past two seasons the Jaguars accumulated a 20-game losing streak which is the second longest in NFL history.

With the number one pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and a new head coach, the Jags will look to get back on track after being one of the worst teams in the NFL over the past decade.
