Harden Wants Trade to Philadelphia

Breaking News:

Although Brooklyn Nets guard James Harden wants a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, he has resisted making that formal request out of fear of the public backlash that would come with asking out of a second franchise in consecutive seasons, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Harden wants to be traded to Philadelphia by the 3pm trade deadline, but Wojnarowski says that Daryl Morey and Nets general manager Sean Marks have yet to become engaged in serious dialogue on a deal.

The two teams are expected to engage in talks before Thursday’s 3pm trade deadline.

Harden and LaMarcus Aldridge did not accompany the Nets to Washington for tonight’s game; they stayed behind to work with the Nets performance coaches instead, according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe.

When asked about what Brooklyn may do for the rest of the season, Wojnarowski said:

“Brooklyn can play with James Harden the rest of this season. Brooklyn can treat this like Kawhi Leonard in Toronto, they know he’s going to leave, but try to win a title with the big 3.”
