“He Goes So Hard In Practice” — Doug Pederson on Calvin Ridley

“He Goes So Hard In Practice” — Doug Pederson on Calvin Ridley

At the 2022 trade deadline, the Atlanta Falcons traded suspended-receiver Calvin Ridley to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for two draft picks that can range from a maximum of a 2023 fifth-rounder and a 2024 second-round pick.

On March 6, Ridley was reinstated into the NFL from his suspension for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.

He has since returned to the field and suited for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Teammates, Coaches, and other Staff members have raved about him.

The 28-year-old receiver had to be held out of some drills during OTA’s due to precautionary reasons. On Tuesday morning, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson was asked about Ridley and the impact that he’s made.

“He’s done an outstanding job for us.. “He’s the type of guy that you have to pump the brakes with… He’s doing a great job picking up the offense.” Pederson said.

Ridley had 3,342 receiving yards in 49 games played with the Atlanta Falcons. He got into the end zone 28 times during his 49 game tenure including a 10-touchdown rookie season in 2018.

He joins a plenty-talented wide receiver room in Jacksonville headed by Christian Kirk and Zay Jones. The Jaguars also drafted Parker Washington during the 2023 NFL Draft in hopes that he can develop into a big time playmaker.
