Hornets Sign Isaiah Thomas To 10-Day Deal

The Charlotte Hornets are signing guard Isaiah Thomas to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Thomas, 33, was down in the G-League with Denver’s affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold. In his final three games with the team, Thomas was averaging 41 points.

In his career, Thomas averaged upwards of 28 points per game — with the Boston Celtics — but was shortly derailed by a hip injury.

The 5’9 veteran has shown multiple times that he is ready for a comeback, having short, 10-day stints with the Lakers and Mavericks this year, but did not have his contract extended.

Thomas could serve as a good, backup guard for Charlotte, who is sitting at tenth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 30-32.
