James Robinson, Giants Agree to One-Year Deal: Source

The New York Giants have announced the signing of former 1,000-yard Jacksonville running back James Robinson.

Robinson has proven to be a solid runner and adds much-needed insurance for Saquon Barkley, whose status for the upcoming season remains in question.

Barkley, the franchise’s star running back, was not able to come to terms with the franchise on a long-term contract extension before the franchise tag extension deadline. As a result, he plans on holding out of Giants’ training camp and his long-term future is now uncertain.

For Robinson, it will be his fourth team in four years as the Giants search for the flashes he showed in Jacksonville, with Barkley’s status unknown.
