Ketel Marte, D-Backs Agree to 5-year, $76M Deal

The Diamondbacks are keeping one of their key players.

Ketel Marte, Arizona’s second baseman, agreed to a five-year, $76 million extension that runs through 2027.

Marte, who is only 28, is now tied to Arizona for six more years with a grand total of $84 million to be made. There is a team option for the Diamondbacks in 2028.

Marte has batted a combined .296 in his five seasons with the Diamondbacks and has a career batting average of .287, playing two seasons with the Mariners.
