Lions Trade Jeff Okudah To Falcons

The Detroit Lions are trading former third overall pick Jeff Okudah to the Atlanta Falcons, Okudah’s agency announced Tuesday afternoon.

In exchange for Okudah, the Lions are receiving a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

2022 was Okudah’s most productive season with the Lions as he posted 73 total tackles in 15 games, with 57 of those being solo tackles.

He was owed $5.2M from the Lions and by getting rid of him, Detroit unloads the money owed to him.

Okudah will receive a fresh start in Atlanta alongside young cornerback A.J. Terrell.
