The Super Bowl, and the future of 7 football-free months following it, are upon us. But before that, we’ve got one heck of a Super Bowl match-up upon us. A battle between the 2 best offensive minds in the league. A quarterback who everyone overlooked against a quarterback who is on that path to becoming the NFL’s greatest player ever. Patrick Mahomes is in no doubt the best player in football, but Brock Purdy was the best quarterback in the NFL in 2023.
Let’s go over what I think is going to happen before we get to my colleagues. I think that the 49ers rushing attack is going to be potent, and the defense will do a good job of taking away Isiah Pacheco and Travis Kelce. Brock Purdy is going to activate some of his inner Disney movie magic and play well. So yes, I think that the 49ers. Actually, most of us here at Official Sports Place are picking Purdy (or “absolute stud muffin” as Chase Price puts it) and the 49ers to get the victory.
