Way to Early NFL Predictions – NFC.

The NFC is a division that isn’t really rich with many elite quarterbacks and contending teams right now, and is way more of a top heavy conference. Nevertheless, there are a lot of teams that are fighting for a playoff spot and a lot of coaches looking to keep their jobs. Let’s take a look at who is going to be at the bottom of the barrel and who’s going to be on top of the shelf.

I predicted the seasons of every team in the league going game by game using this website. This is how I was able to predict the standings with exact tiebreakers.

NFC East

  1. Philadelphia Eagles. 13-4
  2. Dallas Cowboys. 11-6.
  3. New York Giants. 6-11.
  4. Washington Commanders. 4-13.

The NFC East was pretty competitive last season. However the Eagles were by far the best team in this division, and I have that repeating again. They have the best QB in the division AND conference by FAR, the best weapons in the division, and a very fearsome defense. Dallas will for sure be good, but I’m just not sure just how good a Mike McCarthy coached team can be.

The Giants were a good story last year but I firmly believe that Daniel Jones is not a franchise QB or even a good QB and I can’t see them repeating that success now that the NFL has seen them. The Commanders have a very good defense but I just think that offense lacks a lot. The Commanders have a higher ceiling than the Giants, but that doesn’t mean much.

NFC North

  1. Detroit Lions. 12-5.
  2. Minnesota Vikings. 9-8.
  3. Chicago Bears. 4-13.
  4. Green Bay Packers. 3-14.

I really think the Detroit Lions really run away with this division this season. They have the best overall offense in the division and a vastly improved defense (on paper). Jared Goff also has a very good case for being the best quarterback in this division and a top 5 quarterback in the entire NFC. The Vikings may be a good team but they really got exposed toward the end of last season, which has be doubting them big time.

I am also not a Justin Fields or Jordan Love believer. I think Fields has shown that he is a major draft bust, bad NFL quarterback, and this next season is going to prove it. The Bears need to move of Fields and if they’re smart, they’ll do everything they can to have the chance to draft Caleb Williams. Love may end up being okay but I’m just not sold on his abilities as of right now. Let’s see if either of these young and talented quarterbacks can prove me wrong, which could very well happen.

NFC South

  1. Carolina Panthers. 11-6.
  2. New Orleans Saints. 10-7.
  3. Atlanta Falcons. 5-12.
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 2-15.

Bryce Young is going to be a star in this league. That’s it. Him and new head coach Frank Reich (my Coach of the Year pick) are going to be a dynamic duo. I see the Panthers surprising many on route to a division win. However, the New Orleans Saints can easily steal this division behind their new quarterback Derek Carr. Carr has some nice weapons to work with and the Saints’ defense is pretty good as well.

I like Desmond Ridder and I think he will be a good quarterback in the league. However, I am of the belief that this is going to be a rough year for Ridder and the young Falcons team, but I do hope that the team sticks with Ridder and head coach Arthur Smith going into next season even if they do struggle. The Buccaneers were bad most of last season with the GOAT, Tom Brady, as their quarterback. Their quarterbacks this season are Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask. Yikes.

NFC West

  1. San Francisco 49ers. 13-4.
  2. Seattle Seahawks. 11-6.
  3. Los Angeles Rams. 4-13.
  4. Arizona Cardinals. 2-15.

The 49ers are far and away the best team in this division. Their only question is the constant drama surrounding their quarterback room, but assuming Brock Purdy is their quarterback with that amount of weapons with that defense? They will win the division. Seattle is a very well constructed team, and I think Geno Smith is a good quarterback to have with explosive weapons such as Tyler Lockett, D.K Metcalf, Kenneth Walker, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Pete Carroll is also just as good as ever and remains one of the best coaches in the entire league.

I have no hope for the Rams. Their defense is a mess and Matthew Stafford’s nagging injuries are not going to help anyone. However, 4th round pick Stetson Bennett IV is going to prove to be a diamond in the rough and will take over the reigns at some point this season. The Cardinals on the other hand are just rough. Their offense is okay at best and Kyler Murray wasn’t looking so good before tearing his ACL last season. Offensively, their weapons are lacking at best and defensively… it’s just a nightmare.
