French superstar Ousmane Dembele has agreed to terms to release his activation clause with Paris Saint-Germain, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The contract will be a 5-year deal, and Dembele will be bringing in half of the activation clause.
Dembele was bought by Barcelona for $105 million back in 2017, but has since suffered various injuries and has lacked playing time since his arrival. It will now become a $50 million release clause activation for the French side as they add to their strong attacking core, which features superstar Kylian Mbappe, whose future with the club remains in doubt.
Dembele has recently informed team members that he will be joining Paris Saint-Germain, according to journalist Helene Condis of COPE. The dressing room is a bit saddened by Dembele’s departure, as he featured in a key role for Barcelona’s current manager, Xavi.
The once-young phenom will now look to find his form once again in his home country as the Frenchman joins a lethal attack featuring Kylian Mbappe, who was his teammate at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
All that is left is for Barcelona to accept the deal as they prepare to send the Frenchmen away.
