Luis Arraez Hits For The Cycle In Marlins Win

Luis Arraez Hits For The Cycle In Marlins Win

Last season, Luis Arraez won the AL batting title with the Minnesota Twins. He hit .316.

In the offseason, the Twins surprisingly dealt him to the Marlins in exchange for SP Pablo Lopez and a few prospects. Arraez is the 3rd batting champ to be traded in the following offseason.

The Marlins started this season with Arraez in the leadoff spot. He was getting on base, but nobody was driving him in. So, they decided to bat him 3rd, and it has worked out nicely.

On Tuesday, Aaron Nola took the mound for the Phillies. Arraez is matchup proof, so it really doesn’t matter who he faces.

Against Nola, he went 2-3 with a double and a triple.

In the 7th, he just barely hit a homer to left against righty Connor Brogdon.

To complete the cycle, Arraez hit an RBI single in the 8th.

The Marlins won 8-4 and improved to 5-7. They sit at 3rd in the NL East. Luis Arraez is already on his way to another batting title, as he is batting .537 through two weeks of baseball.
