Miles Bridges Signs One-Year, $7.9M Qualifying Offer With Hornets

Charlotte Hornets restricted free agent Miles Bridges is reportedly gearing up to sign a $7.9 million qualifying offer for the upcoming 2023-2024 NBA season.

This decision sets the stage for Bridges to become an unrestricted free agent next summer, as negotiations between him and the Hornets regarding a contract extension have hit a significant roadblock.

Bridges missed all of last season following a domestic violence arrest on June 27, 2022, the eve of last summer’s NBA free agency.

Prior to his arrest, Bridges was expected to receive a lucrative offer from the Hornets on the heels of a breakout 2021-22 campaign where he averaged 20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor and 33.1 percent from three-point range.

Once he returns, he will be required to miss the first 10 games for which he is eligible and able to play.
