In a shocking development, Northwestern University has made the decision to fire their head football coach, Pat Fitzgerald, due to alleged hazing incidents within the program. Initially, the coach was given a two-week suspension, and a month-long investigation which failed to uncover “sufficient evidence” linking him to the incidents. However, a total of eleven former and current players acknowledged that hazing has been ongoing within the football program along with a former player coming forward revealing that they had experienced the incidents and told The Daily Northwestern that hazing included sexual acts. Amid the fallout, Fitzgerald has been fired.

Northwestern football has a team meeting scheduled for tonight (July 10th). Current players within the program have been very supported of Fitzgerald.
