Ryan Mountcastle Drives in NINE Runs in Orioles Win

Last season, Ryan Mountcastle posted his best WAR of his career. He hit 22 homeruns and 28 doubles while driving in 85 runs. He was a big factor in the Orioles’ very successful 2022 season.

Now, the Orioles know they can make the postseason. In order to do so, Mountcastle needs to remain a huge factor in the middle of the lineup. So far, he has been all that and more.

Heading into Tuesday, Mountcastle was crushing left-handed pitching. In only 11 at bats, he had three homeruns against lefties. On the mound for the A’s was Kyle Muller, who is a lefty.

In the first inning, Mountcastle hit a sac fly, which was his first RBI of the game. In his next at bat, he hit an RBI single into center.

In his third at bat, he crushed a three run homer to center which traveled 417 feet. This cut the A’s lead down to one. Muller was pulled after Mountcastle’s homerun.

In the 7th inning, Mounty put the game out of reach. He hit an absolute moonshot to left field for a grand slam, which put the Orioles up five runs.

The O’s held on to win, 12-8. Ryan Mountcastle finished the game with 9 RBI, which ties the franchise record. After this huge game, he now leads the league in RBI. Baltimore improves to 6-5, which is 4th in the AL East.
